Pay special attention to survivors whose family members or close friends have died

  • It is important not to take children or adolescents to identify the deceased.
  • It is a good idea to have family members as a small groups to identify the deceased.
  • Gives some objective information about the deceased’s status.
  • If children ask about the deceased in details, tell them to remember the good memory of that person without answering.
  • Gives survivors time to respond to the fact first rather than try to comfort them immediately after death of family members.
  • Keep in mind that suicide or extreme behavior can occur.
